A.J. thats was awesome I always try to speak english fluently but I break the sentence which makes no meaning. But I received your 2 emails now its really working. Thank you for the second lesson. It shocked me easily.Any way shock is movement forward too. I have been learning English for a long time and I have never heart something like that.Grammar, grammar and once more grammar I was told. It sounds so boring. You are exactly right, that thinking about rules of grammar kills time limit for speaking. I do hope I will able communicate automatically.

I have studied and listened your two rules about effortless English..Up to now everything is going on a right track, but I would like to tell you that I have been studying English from last 6 years and presently I am in English country i.e. AUSTRALIA doing my Masters in Pharmacy. I can both understand & speak English very well. Sometimes I stuck up with my poor vocabulary & can not light up my mind what to say..? First of all, I ‘d like to thank Mr.A.J. for the great advice I received from his e-mail that has the video for rule 2.
Second, in fact, trying to learn English gramar in order to speak better doesn’t really help much which I was facing at the beginning of learning English. ur tactic of teaching English seems to be very good.
Actually, my speaking is very well, I improved my speaking skills when I traveled abroad and lived with native speakers. However, I badly need to improve my writing skills as well, I somehow subscribed in speaking course while I need to improve my writing skills.
Further, my job entails me to draft or write reports.

I’m quite surprise with your second rule because all this years when i was a student we been ask to learn grammar to improve our English. Yap, i do believe it hard for me to speak English well. In my primary years, secondary years and in teaching Primari in about 5 years, really really hard for me to speak English fluently. I know it caused me a big trouble and a big shame on me as a Primary Teacher. In the year 2005 i forced myself to speak ungrammatical English, i even don’t care if i made mistakes. Years passed and right now i found it a bit easy for me to speak English. So right now i am so thankful for the opportunity to find such a useful new teachings that i do believe that ‘never use grammar to improve your speaking.

i saw that in the twice post card, you continue discussing about listening skill. we have got alot of ways to listen english such as: IPod , audio book, watching TV or internet, i think so. you are right, learner english should stuydy by ears not eyes. I’m very glad to find out your web and lessons. I can’t speak English fluently and naturally just because I often paid attention to grammar too much…I considered about grammar before opening my mouth to speak something even sometimes I was not sure whether it was grammatically correct or not …I was afraid of being laughed for using unprofessional English because I’m an English student. So I really lack of self-confident when speaking English. That’s why I do agree with you to forget grammar rules for speaking quickly and automatically.

I’ve joined your email course for 2 days. Through your 2 rules, I realize that those are problems I’ve got when I study English, esp. in speaking English. Ya, I’ve learnt English for years, but I focus so much on grammar. I can write with less thinking, but I have to spend time to think about English when I speak as what I should say, how I should organize sentences, which words I should use, and so on.
I am always afraid that people can not understand what I say.
Now I think I should follow your rules in speaking English after I read lots of comments from your students here and on facebook. I am glad to be your student.

Wonderful, this rule no. 2 is absolutely right. Writting is not a problem because we really can correct any mistakes but for speaking we have to be accurate and/or precise in delivering our messages inorder to avoid miguiding the listeners.

I am so happy and thankful that I found your site “Effortless English Club.” To be honest with you, the e-mail course rules are very strange for me since I have been studying English from my Elementary and College years by reading textbooks, grammar rules, memorizing English words, etc., according to the system taught in the schools. But this I must confess to you, I can write in simple English, but I can’t voice it out orally. Because of this, I tell you, I am very much disappointed and embarrassed. So I realized that there is certainly wrong in the way I study English. Hello Mr. AJ. I am particularly grateful to you for your e-mail courses. Before I found you, I had been very curious about how native speaks study English. I asked my teachers and they said it is very different from us Chinese. However they did not tell me how it differs. No doubt that you has helped me understand what is different. The process of learning a language is not about memorizing vocabulary list and learn grammar. The best way is to pick up it from native speakers. Because it is very very original way that human developed various language systems.And that is the reason why your method works. So thank you so much and I will continue using your method.

Thank you for your email course.
Before some mounts I thought why is english courses(more spread)are not teach naturaly and why children in english family speek fluently before they go to the school ?
Now you give me the answer ,because the sistem in this courses is wrong.For istance , I learnd 4 mounts english course and more of the lessons consist english gramar rules which explain to us on our native language.The resolts for me is bad understanding and do not speek enough.

i have just started the lessons with aj hoge..i listened to the first rule and now i am on his second rule `dont study the grammar`, and it surprised me because in my highschool and college days,,my english teachers focused on teaching the grammar, essays and reading…and aj hoge is absolutely right, until now i couldnt speak english naturally..i have been studying english for my whole life according to my teachers strategies..but unfortunately the result is the same..but now thanks to the effortlessenglish..the first day i received the email from aj hoje, i threw my old ways in learning english…thanks i have found the effortlessenglish

I never couldn’t understand these grammar rules and even if I could – I had forgot them immediately. Now I understand that I just had very little exposure to the language, so I couldn’t understand what it is all about. I think grammar is the last part of language learning. This is for those who want to be perfect.
But when I started with Effortless English, I realized that it is not necessary. That’s because POV mini-stories are great for natural grammar acquisition.

if I didn’t dropped in on your page a couple days ago, guess what…
I might be here, immersed in my textbooks,and still,relying on my ESL classes(boredom…~sigh~), because I’ve ever thought that’s the only way I ‘plant’, and I will harvest later. Believe or not, over years, studying English, I have nothing to harvest. I’m writing using broken English, I’m ‘muted’, whenever I’ve to speak English ( the only period I speak English is., during my ESL classes). Your writings and audio about these rules have given me a wake-up call. I think that you’re not only a teacher, you’re such a fire fighter,(or a doctor, or just, another A.J in my yellow pages..but this A.J is so impressive =) who saved me from an agony.I was wrong when I’d always persuaded myself,to cope,reading my textbooks (ONLY) so that one day I’ll speak English. I know that it doesn’t work out but, still, I ‘lied’ to myself. Now, there’s someone (it’s you, Mr.)who’d figured out that I was ‘lying’,I’m busted, and he teaches me to stop it, and to ‘plant’ my seeds using the right ways. Thank you ..( no words can express my gratitude for your help)

Today I´ve got by e-mail the Effortless English Rule 2 and I believe your method has everything to be successful. Two things seem to be obvious to me: a)Babies take time listening and listening before start speaking their first words b) and grammar rules don´t become the learning more easily.On the contrary I know people who has been studying grammar for a long time without any success.
