Aj in your bonus lessons „hitch” there is scene that 90% human communication isn’t speech but body language. Maybe this the key to learn languages . What’s your opinion

Yesterday I just came back from business trip to Germany.That is why I did not see you online webinar.I very apreciate you for your great idea to record webinar and save it for the whole of us,who are your students.I have alot of motivation, because I need to understand my colleagues from whole over the world and to be understandable for them also….so much!!! He is 17 years old powerfull, funny and energy smart guy.Hi is a student of technical school.IT is his choice. Hi AJ ! I think you have the teaching skills from God. If I was I Minister of Education of Russian Federation I ask you to be the teacher for every pupil in the schools of Russia. I really know how our children hard study English and after that they can’t speak in English (in the better case they can read and know lots of dead ruls). Thank you very much for your teaching us. I consider you you to be the BEST teacher in the world !

Hello, I am from Lithuania, in my early fifties…I began to learn english at secondary and high schools, but I could not speak and understand english, etc. I have had a 120 hour english course this year and have got B2 Independent user’s level. But I could not speak or chat anyway, before I found Effortless English lessons. During three months I did a huge jump on my speaking and understanding. I have learned many new words, phrases, my pronunciation became better, I feel more relaxed and enjoy this way of learning. I fascinated of AJ’s personality, his point of view about lifestyle, I enjoy commentaries next to mini stories. I hope three or five months of I will be able to go to abroad on my business and speak more easier than today. A lot of thanks for AJ. Hi AJ, how are you? This is really good having the chance to talk to you… You said that to remember a word past few times you should make the body language, speaking the word and acting, But there are some words impossible of making any moviment through the body to remember later, so How to remember words impossible of acting with the body?
And also I’d like to thank you so much, Listening is perfect! But I found out that speaking is as well. For me now ‘Conversation is the key’, oh and there is a part in Hitch in the second part that He says: “you Is a very fluent…” Isn’t that wrong? The correct isn’t you ARE?

I’m pretty fine. It’s been a great pleasure doing your Effortless English Course. I bought it one year ago and I’ve been doing it until today. It’s great. It gave me the confidence I needed to talk in english. I feel I’m getting better and better. Thank you for your wonderful job! I have a question to ask you. You’ve been telling us about your new lessons, video lessons. I think they are gonna be fantastic, because I guess listening to a native english speaker is the most important thing for us. I’m a Brazilian guy, so I speak portuguese, and I think it’s really important to learn english, since we know that english is the language of the world. People around the world speak english, so we’ve been learning how to communicate with the entire world. It’s fantastic!! But let’s come back to my question. I just listened to your second webinair. I was surprised that you said you will discontinue selling “Effortless English” and will only sell “Power English”. What surprises me is that you said that Power English is for advanced intermediates and advanced students. So what will you offer advanced beginners and intermediates? Maybe you are planning a new series for them, but in the meantime you might want to continue to offer Effortless English.

I could not speak English for two mounths ago and when I met my freind from Bangladish I could not speak English with him and he could not speak Swedish. Now after two mounths studing and listening to your lessons I feel very relax and I met my freind yesterday. He didn’t beleive me and he was very surparis and he asked me: what are studing? you counldn’t speak for two mounths ago he said to me. I told him about your home page and he became very happy.

Carlos, my new Power English Lessons are still mostly audio… but they will also include over 1 hour of video. You will be able to watch the videos on your computer or your iPod. If your computer can burn DVDs, then you could definitely put the video on a DVD and watch it on your TV.

Good question about me learning Spanish with Effortless methods. For many many years I learned in school with terrible old methods and so my head is full of grammar and translations. A couple of years ago.. I started to learn again.. and used a “listen first” approach. That helped a lot more… but I can’t find recorded Mini-Stories or Point of View Stories for my level in Spanish! So my Spanish approach was never totally “Effortless”. For the last year I have not studied Spanish at all because I have been so busy with the Effortless English company.
But someday I want to go to a Spanish speaking country, hire a private teacher, teach them Effortless methods, and then have them teach Tomoe and I using Effortless methods!!!

Hi AJ. You’re great teacher. Everything that you have said really works for me. However, I have a few questions – comments. First about movies. I do as you recomand. One scene for a few days, than next scene for a few days than I repeat it again… The point is that I prefer TV shows and Disney’s cartoons. I like it because it’s shorter and simplier.Is that OK? The second thing is about point and click PC adventure games. I like it and, you know, there are a lot of dialogues, and it’s real English very similiar to the movies. I naturally have to repeat a lot of dilalogue in that games to find out what to do next. Finally, what about songs. I thing that easy songs for example from the cartoons are also good for learning because we naturally do a lot of repetitions because we listening music not just words. Thank you in advance.

Cristian, Good questions. After my Original (or Power) lessons, the next level is Real English.
As for 6 months.. yes, when you follow the system you’ll probably start speaking automatically before you finish all of the lessons. I guarantee 6 months, but everyone is different. One of our great members, Fred, actually took 8 months. Some others said they noticed automatic speaking after just 4-5 months. So I say 6 months is normal.

Kareem, yes the lessons are a little expensive… but they were very expensive for me to make. I had to pay professional sound recording studios and professional video technicians so I must charge this amount (and in the future, must charge more). I know these are not for everyone,… so if they are too expensive I recommend using my free twitter audios and my free podcast

Duaa, Yes, I do worry a lot that this is getting too big. Our website computer is having a lot of problems now… and a lot of people are writing to say the video isn’t working for them (because too many people are trying to watch the videos at the same time).
So I’m very worried that on the Sale day too many people will try to get these lessons. Effortless English is a small family business and honestly, I don’t want it to get too big. I don’t want to have a lot of employees. I don’t want to be President of some super-big corporation.
I’m an English teacher, not a big businessman… and teaching is always my love. So probably I must limit the number of new Power English Lessons we sell. I’m thinking about it and will decide on a number soon.
I’m sure everyone understands why I must do this. I’m sure you also want me to remain a fun and energetic teacher… and not become some boring big businessman
So that’s why I worry about getting too big.

Hi AJ I have seen ur fear for ur small business program becomes bigger and bigger and u told us that u don’t want to be a manager of big buniness corporation.
As to me don’t worry to reduce the number of ur students, just make one or two bad lessons and release them to all ur students using the internet. then most of them will leave you alone.

Thanks again for your great work.This webinar really helps me a lot.In the past,actually,I didn’t really listen a certain lesson set more than a week.I feel that I don’t quite concentrate on the lesson while I am learning,and I tend to listen to new topic even thought I knew it is probably wrong.So recently I try to focus on the past lesson which I should have learn more deeply.Also,I find that visualize each scene in your brain or draw it out on the papar is helpful for understand the meaning or the situation.Plus body language,they are good ways to help you concentrate on the subject.
Your podcast is a fantastic encoregement for me and for your other menbers,I believe.I’m very excited about your new coming lesson (though I cannot have one.)I’m curious about your video lesson.I wonder how creative,enagetic it may like.Which expression you will show through the lesson?But AJ,I think you could leave more time to yourself,especially when you are really getting tired,we all hope so,if it’s nessacery.
Do you have a plan to come to China?If there will be a chance that you can come here,I’ll be very happy about that.Yesterday,I listened to your comments about human rights.Especially in China,I knew,there are many problems here and we certainly have a long process to go.As an idividual also a citizen,I think everyone has to focus on the right thing and stands up for it.But anyway I like and will continual learning from you and everybody.

I’m so excited when listen to your lessons, and because i familiar with your teaching method , i feel very bad when i have to study English in university by traditional method.By the way, i have an opinion about this website , that’s about the structure of this comment and answer page.It’s quite inconvenient when i want to see your reply about individual question.For example , someone make a question in the 10th comment , but your answer with this question is on the 50th, that’s maybe a funny example and probability is small but
since your website is so popular in the world , and many people comment about your lessons so it really make me feel dizzy when i’m looking for your reply.
If you could change a litte bit about comment and reply structure page , everybody will feel easier to read your reply and the questions also.
And i have a idea about how to resolve that problem , just making two column with each comment chart , the left one is for question and the right one is for your answer.
That’s my idea , may be it will be useful for you.

First many thanks for everything that you do for us “students”.
I’m new here, I knew you, when I started to do the free course of 7 rules. After this I bought the lessons from real English.
I started to study last Friday (03/07), It is really wonderful.
But I’m lost, I don’t know what I need to do, I’m studying 2 hours every day, but during 2 hours I can listen only 2 times all lesson. I listen the conversation, the vocabulary the mini-story (I answer the questions too) and the POV.
I couldn’t write in the effortless English forums, because I don’t know how to do it.
Know I listen your webinar, and I really love it. I can understand all you talk, but I can’t speak, it is so difficult for me, I know the words but when I’m talking they don’t appear in my mind. I hope the real English lessons can help me with it.
If you can answer me, and teach how I need to study I will thank you a lot.

how long have you been teaching by internet? I’m very surprised about your very huge job and I am also worried it’s going to get too big. But I am happy when I receive you in my house, on my computer screen.
When I was a young student and then when I was a young teacher, I studied some languages :ancient languages (Latin and Greek), modern langueges (French,Spanish, English) but I haven’t spoken anyone of them, never. I used to love the grammar; I thought it was like the brain ( maybe the soul)of each people. Now, after your lessons, I still love the grammar but I think it is like a somber, serious super-ego that reproachs and blocks us. You make us free! That is why you are the best teacher in the world and your students are a lot and are happy.

Samra,… Power English Lessons and Learn Real English Lessons are different. LRE focuses on casual English, idioms, and slang. Power English Lessons focus on fluency, speed, and clear speaking with strong emotion.

Edliene,… Remember to focus on listening for 4-6 months. Don’t focus on speaking at all right now.. you need a lot more time listening first. It sounds like you are doing everything correctly. After you understand the vocabulary lesson, you could focus more on the conversations and mini-stories… as those are the most powerful lessons.
But generally, just relax and listen, listen, listen.
And do go on the Forums… your writing is great. Be sure to read Fred’s story… he was a lot like you.. and he focused just on listening for 8 months– and one day, as if “by magic” (those are his words) be began to speak quickly and automatically.
Fred will also tell you that Listening (not speaking practice) is THE BIG SECRET!

Samra,… in the Question & Answer video I explained the difference between the Original Effortless English and Power English– basically Power English will replace the Original Lessons. Power English Lessons have better sound quality, and all the topics are very motivational and will help you succeed in all of your life… including English. Of course, Power English will be more expensive… so it’s up to you– either Power or the Original Lessons would be fine for you… and both work great with Learn Real English Lessons (which are fantastic).
As for understanding TV and movies.. that is definitely quite advanced… but the Learn Real English Lessons will especially help you with that because TV often has a lot of casual English, including slang and idioms.

Hi there AJ. I feel my English is really getting better since I’ve started to follow your seven rules. I asked a few questions ( in post 296.) Hopefully, you’ll answer it soon. I have a new one. I’d like to teach my child English this way. Actually, I have no child yet, but I’m going to have a baby soon. Is this posible? Can I teach my baby girl English by talkig to her only in English, while my wife will talk to her in our first language – Serbian. I don’t want her to be perfect, but I think I could give her a good adventage. If she listen to a lot of songs for infants in easy English, and play a lot of games in English with me I think that will work. Have you heard of Helen Doron, English for infants? I would use similiar method. I don’t want to force her to speak with me only in English, but I’m just afraid that as soon as she realise that I’m non native English speaker and that I normaly talk with others in Serbian she’ll be starting to respond only in Serbian. Maybe I will have to find a few native speakers on the internet who would like to talk to us so that way she’ll have a fun and continue to speak. What do you think?

Thanks a lot, I decided to buy your lessons instead of registering for a TOEFL class in my country, but I could not even open the page. Finally I understood that I can open the page with an anti filter. Do you think it is safe to pay with a credit card via an antifilter? I have 2 more questions.
1.I do not have any problems with my listening, I completely understand you while speaking and I find no new words in your speeches. I think I have some difficulties in using the correct grammar in speaking and even writing. And the other problem that limits my reading score is my English reading speed. Do you think that your lessons will help me raise my score?
2. Do you use different forms of “if clauses” and some other difficult grammar rules in your lessons?

As for speaking- do as much EASY listening as possible to improve your speaking. To improve your reading… I highly recommend that you read A LOT of easy novels in English. Don’t read textbooks and don’t read difficult novels. Read a lot of easy novels– like the ones I recommended in the video

I noticed that many times you refer to “native english speakers” or as a question to a native english speaker. I lived in CT. since I was 14 and now 35 I’m sure I speak english better than a lot of native speakers, because of the fact that I’m an english writer.
I live in Chile now and during my spare time I teach english, but many of them are very concern of having a native english speaker teaching. What would you suggest in a situation like this, since I speak both languages fluently?

Patricia, songs are very difficult to understand… they are not really good for learning English because they use poetic language (even native speakers often have no idea what the song means!!!)
As for Power English— every listen won’t have a video. Most lessons are still audio. However, there will be some quick start Vocabulary Videos– I believe they total about an hour long
Power English will certainly help you with your listening comprehension!

Ha Dinh,… it’s your choice. You can just use the Original lessons and you’ll be fine. Or you could add Power English and then alternate between them (1+ week Original, then 1+ week Power, etc…). Either way, just use the deep learning system and you will soon be writing YOUR success story

Milan,… I think that’s a great idea for teaching your baby/child. Just make it fun and natural. Kids are quick learners and they learn best when you combine play, songs, games with learning. My first-ever teaching job was teaching small children in Korea– I just sang songs and played and read story books… and in 3 months they were speaking only English in my class (ie… they spoke absolutely no Korean in my class– 4 hours a day, Monday to Friday). These were 4-5 year old children.
A great thing to do… if possible.. is to arrange play dates with a group of American/UK/Aussie/etc. children (ie. native English speakers). Even once a week with a group of native speaker children (daycare? international pre-school?) would be really powerful.
Finally, don’t worry if she responds to you in Serbian… just keep speaking English to her and don’t pressure her at all about speaking. Always connect fun and pleasure with English in her mind. Let her just listen, listen, listen… she’ll speak (or won’t) on her own time

Ahmed…. I recommend that you continue with my Original lessons. For you, Power English is optional. It will help, but isn’t totally necessary. If you think you will enjoy the Power English topics- then yes, definitely get them.
But most importantly, just keep listening to the lessons every day for one hour or more! If you have extra time, you can also listen to other people’s podcasts or audiobooks

Hi AJ, I would like to suggest you a thing. As you know, folks badly want these new lessons. I think that your plan, which is to sell for 1 day the product and then goodbye for other more months, will be the factor most likely to clog the server. Personally, I don’t care if I can get the new lessons at a lower price, what I most care about is actually be able to buy them as soon as possible, period. People have no time, they don’t want to wait more months. Why don’t you sell the new lessons non stop, with a first day special offer, and then afterwards full price?

I must say I have slipped with my effortlessenglish learning. I did not notice that you sent your mp3lessons after my paying because it was delivered into my spam folder. I found that after many months and if I tried to download your lessons than mp3 lessons were without any pdf texts accompanied or accessible for me on your pages. My enthusiasm went down and I forget for some time on my resolution. I wrote about that in the past and I was delivered finally with mp3 and texts from you. So now I am firmly decided to keep your advise and continue listening your lessons every day.

Missfina.. Yes, Learn Real English also uses the Effortless English System… but those lessons focus on casual conversation, idioms, slang, etc..

I’ve found your lesson is very impressive…. it helps me a lot in speaking english …. however, when I watch movie english it is very tough for me to understand the characters when they are talking to each other. It is an arduous job to understand them… I can understand you 95% but 30% when I listen to other native speakers. therefore, could you gimme several tips on how to understand those characters… thanks..

[AJ: Hi. The new lessons will still be mostly AUDIO... with a bonus of 1 hour of Video vocabulary. You can definitely buy the new Power English Lessons before you finish the old ones... then just alternate the two.
As for buying Power English later... I'm only selling Power English on one day. I will then stop selling them for a while... several months at least. But if you have a lot of the Original lessons, you'll be fine and can wait

I just finish listen your Webinar your diction is perfect and I can understand everything you said.Unfortunately is not the same when I watch movies or TV or listen Ipods like Tikibar or Mommy Gretchen, this last then is incredible I only understand some words not enough to know what are saying. I listen your lessons everyday but not with so deep as your recomendation. Is very dificult for me to do that. But I believe you and in your teach method and I hope to get strong improvement soon, sudenly like Fred from France. To be honest, I absolutely HATED middle school and absolutely HATED high school too. So until I was 18 years old, I hated going to school. I'm not sure if that is good news or bad news for you 
However-- here's the good news-- all you need to do is be patient and practice CANI. CANI = Constant And Never-ending Improvement. The Japanese call this "kaizen". It means that each day you just try to improve a tiny little bit. You don't worry about big improvements. And you certainly don't worry about other people. Just make a tiny improvement each day. You will be amazed how powerful this is after a couple of years.
Another point-- stop comparing yourself to others. Live your life. Find your own genius. The truth is that most of those people you are so jealous of now... well, in 15 years they will be working boring jobs with boring lives... just following the "rules" doing what everyone else does. If you feel different, I recommend that you celebrate that-- its a great gift.
Find what you love. As Gandhi said, "Experiment with your life". You have time.... no need to find all the answers right now. When you are old enough, I highly recommend travel as a great way to learn and grow. In the meantime, practice CANI and RELAX

Adalberto, Good point about the server. I’m trying to balance a couple of things. The main thing is that when we get new members/students buying our lessons we must do a lot of customer service with them. Many have questions about downloading or about using them on the computer. So we spend a lot of time helping new members.
The problem is I’m already super busy so I’m now very worried that we’ll get too many people buying Power English and won’t be able to answer all the questions and help all these sudden new members. So I must limit the sales for a while.. which is why I’m only going to do this special on one day (otherwise, there is no way we can help all these new people).
Of course, by limiting to only one day, we create the new problem of crashing our server..
Honestly, it’s a good problem to have– because I am very happy that so many people are excited about the lessons… but it’s just a lot more and a lot bigger than I imagined
So thanks to you and everyone for being patient as I try to figure out a solution. It’s very important to me that new members are taken care of and helped

On April 24, 2009 I bought Original Effortless English Lessons (TM)Item# 28987 US $117.00. Then on May 14, 2009 I bought Real Conversations Item# 168569 US$97.00. It could seem odd my observation but the case is that my first lesson “Eartquakes” brought:
MP3 Earthquakes Converasation
PDF Earthquakes Converasation
MP3 Earthquakes MS
PDF Earthquakes MS
MP3 Earthquakes Vocabulary
PDF Earthquakes Vocabulary
But in this sample lesson, I observe it brings in addition:

and therefore, the Instructions are totally different.
Please let me now if the lessons were updated or upgraded. If so, please send me the correct download link(s)in oder to download the new file-lessons.

I want to ask one good question about power english.. how about the speed of speaking in power english… In english movies, the characters speak very very fast and they connect one word to other words very fast and quite tough to understand them.. if in power english… the speed of speaking same like in english movies, it will be good for everyone in order to adapt with the REAL english..

I’d like to buy your lessons, but I have problems with credit card. Could you release the selling by Post office or another kind. It would be great for many people aroud the world just like me.
In fact, I am afraid of putting my credid card number on internet. I’d get thankful if you could do that. If it’s not ask too much I’d like also that you send the answer to my e-mail: Moacir91@msn.com.

I know you have a lot of positive feedback from everywhere, but I want to tell you about my personal experience of learning English through your lessons.
When I first found you on the internet, I had a great desire to develop my English. However, after some time, I had some problems with my time and I was very unfortunate that I could not fully follow the instructions that you sent me.
Honestly, I’ve just looked every Lessons and listened the video, which you sent me.
After a while, our friend ,who know English very well was surprised when he heard my English. He noted that my English improved and he was surprised how I can improved my English for the short time . And if I had the opportunity to learn English more closely according to your method, I think I would be achieved very good results.
When I recommended your Effortless English Club to my friend (she is from Moscow), who runs the training in San Francisco, she said that she is attending another courses and she doesn’t need for further study. However, a month later she asked me to give the address of your website and as soon as she visited your site, she bought all your CDs and she refused from other extra courses, and she was very happy. I also recommended the Effortless English Club to all my friends and my family from Tajikistan and they said that eventually heard what they wanted and were afraid to admit it (it was a long-term study of grammar and not the possession of basic skills in speaking).
I want to note that you put your heart into English language , which is aimed to develop it and of course I come to the delight of such patriotism.

I like your idea of learning deeply. I think it is agreat idea. I am working on it now and i feel i really when I listen to an audio or a real conversation several times and understand it , i feel I learn some new phrases fast , then i try to repeat it with movements many times.
Alos, the idea of writing or speaking without thinking about language is awonderful idea. I feel can express better when i write or speak whithout thinkign about what i want to say.
Regarding speaking i feel i speak fluency and automatically with a native speaker but when i speak with non native speaker someone wo is arbic like me . I don’t feel i speak automatically. so do you think it is fine . Please answer to my question

Watching you explain your method in webinar gives me enthusiasm, desire to improve my English. But today early in the morning I was surprised when I couldn’t buy your power English by paypal. I have created my paypal account 02 months ago in order to buy your lessons.
